Tata Motors has launched the much-anticipated Tata Curvv, offering electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) versions. The Tata Curvv EV starts at Rs 17.50 lakh, with the EV 45 priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh, and the EV 55 between Rs 19.25 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh. Tata Motors' Managing Director, Shailesh Chandra, highlighted the company's progress in the EV sector, which now accounts for 12% of their sales, a testament to the rapid growth of their EV portfolio, the largest in India. This comes four years after the launch of the Nexon EV. India's charger network has expanded exponentially and is expected to double by the end of the decade. The Tata Curvv EV offers a 150 km range with just 15 minutes of charging, thanks to its 1.2C charging rate.

The Tata Curvv EV provides two battery options: a 45 kWh pack with a claimed range of 502 km and a 55 kWh pack with a claimed range of 585 km. However, real-world conditions may result in ranges of up to 350 km and 425 km, respectively. This versatile vehicle also features vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle functionality. Safety is a priority, with six airbags, electronic stability program, all-wheel disc brakes, and acoustic alerts for pedestrian safety. Additionally, the Curvv EV is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Practical features include a spacious 500-litre boot and a usable front trunk. The Tata Curvv ICE will offer a choice of three engines: two petrol and one diesel. The petrol variants will feature the new Hyperion GDi engine, delivering 125 hp and 225 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine will come with a dual-clutch transmission, a first for Tata's lineup. The Curvv's key specifications include 18-inch wheels, a ground clearance of 190 mm, and a water-wading depth of 450 mm. The vehicle is designed with a balanced 50:50 weight distribution and ample storage space with a 500-litre boot capacity.
