Hyundai India has unveiled the Creta electric SUV ahead of its launch on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The new EV carries the name of the popular ICE SUV and will be the brand's most affordable EV in the Indian market. Previously, the brand's electric vehicle range included the Kona Electric, which was relatively affordable compared to the flagship Ioniq 5, but since its discontinuation there has been a gap in the range. The new electric SUV is expected to bridge this gap through competitive pricing and establish the brand in a booming market that competes with the likes of the Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6e. The design of the Hyundai Creta Electric is heavily influenced by the ICE model. However, it has unique elements such as a closed grille and a charging port on the front. While the exterior remains the same, new 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels are part of the package. The brand has added active air shutters to the mix to control airflow around the SUV to improve efficiency. To complete the design, the brand offers eight single-color and two two-color options, including three matte colors.
