One of the best remedies for headaches is cold water.
Since among the commonest causes of headaches is dehydration. A lack of water intake, especially in summers when the temperature is high, can lead to throbbing headaches. A dehydration headache is caused when there aren't enough fluids in your body. It can be mild or throbbing like a migraine.
In the summer season, you tend to lose a lot of water through sweating and urinating. The lack of enough fluids, the electrolyte balance in your body goes for a toss. While we do get fluids through food and beverages, in the hotter months, the body loses water faster than we replenish it.
Dehydration headaches are often accompanied by other signs such as dry mouth, fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure, and increased heart rate.
To treat dehydration headache, increase your fluid intake. Drinking water when you have a dehydration-related headache can relieve you of the pain within 30 minutes to three hours. All you have to do is guzzle some water. You can also drink electrolyte rebalancing fluids like coconut water or rice water instead of regular water. To expedite the pain relief, stay away from the sun and avoid any kind of physical labor to prevent further water loss.
