The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that the number of breast cancer cases will reach to an alarming figure and one in every eight women will run at the risk of developing the disease in her lifetime.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) declared breast cancer as the most common form of cancer, almost surpassing cervical cancer as the deadliest of all cancers. Early detection and regular medical-checkups are compulsory, but at the some time it is important to take such food that can prevent breast cancer risk in women.
Here are some foods that will prepare you to fight malignant cancer cells at the onset.
Flaxseed:
Flaxseed are rich in omega-3s, lignans and fibre which form a protective shield against cancer cells responsible for causing breast cancer. You can get flax either as whole seed, ground or in form of Flaxseed oil.
Garlic:
Garlic is a great source of a cancer-fighting compound called allium. Garlic and its relatives ( leeks, onion, scallions, and chives) are shown to slow tumour growth and prevent breast cancer risk. A variety of foods includes garlic and onion. You only need to crush or swallow a piece of garlic every morning and it takes to live a cancer-free life!
Brazil nuts:
The selenium, fibre, and phytochemicals founds in Brazil nuts, which can help fight inflammation, prevent tumour growth and improve the immune system. You can have it as any other nut either with fruits or asparagus, which contains the anti-cancer component, chlorophyll.
Pomegranate:
It includes polyphenol- an ellagic acid with anti-oxidant properties that prevent cancer growth. This is highly recommended food for preventing breast cancer.
Salmon:
Salmon contains rich quantity of omega-3s and vitamins B12 and D. It can provide your body with the nutrients it needs to regulate cell growth and prevent cancer. In fact, certain types of Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) are proven effective in cancer treatment.
Dark-green leafy vegetables:
Add some greens in your diet to prevent cancer! Dark-green leafy vegetables including kale, collards, spinach and Swiss chard probably considered as a "one stop shop" for all the best nutrients your body needs to fend off cancerous cells, such as vitamin B, fibre, phytochemicals, chlorophyll and more.
