Breast cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the breast when the cells start to grow out of control. However, all the lumps that form in the breasts are not cancerous termed as malignant but most of them tend to be non- cancerous or benign.
It is very important for creating an awareness regarding the breast cancer as one among eight women in the United States is expected to be suffering or being diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in her lifetime. Several people are left without being diagnosed as they are not aware of the disease which might lead to the death of the individual.
The BAPS Charities We Walk Together 2020 in Phoenix, AZ is seeking in increasing the awareness and also to educate the people about breast cancer. The We Walk Together 2020 extends its support to the comprehensive education portal of Susan G. Komen, about Breast Cancer at www.komen.org.
The about cancer section in the komen.org which has been co- developed along with Harvard Medical School faculty and Dana- Farber/ Brigham and the Women’s Cancer Center Staff would be having the latest information which would help the people to understand better about the breast cancer as it covers the topics along the breast cancer continuum of care, including breast anatomy, the factors of risk, screening, and the tests for diagnosis, treatment options, metastatic breast cancer, survivorship topics, integrative and complementary therapies, and support.
The Chief Scientific Advisors of Susan G, Komen have estimated that more than 30 per cent of the people who are dying with cancer each year could actually be saved if they had the access to the treatments for the breast cancer which are in existence today.
The Advisors of Komen describe the access to treatment as not only being treated by the traditional screening or the medical care that is prescribed but they have stated that the issue of access would start much earlier with the ideas and the beliefs about breast cancer and also about the symptoms, the risks involved and the recovery.
The About Breast Cancer would be serving more than six million people per annum as it is the source of accessing the information and to get educated about Breast Cancer.
Taking part in the walk, We Walk Together 2020 by the BAPS Charity and extending your support would further be a help in achieving the goal of Susan G. Komen of reducing the current number of cases of deaths being caused by breast cancer, by 50 per cent in the United States by the year 2026.
Around 26,000 people are said to be participating in the walk in over 78 cities of North America, striving to end the breast cancer forever.
The experiences can be shared on the social media by using the hashtag: #WeWalkTogether and #BAPScharities
