Did you notice today's dramatic and impressionistic Google doodle? The melodious doodle, which trails the journey of two lovers in a full moon night, is apparently a musical tribute to French composer Achille-Claude Debussy who turns 151 today.
Dubbed as one of Google's best doodles in recent times, the animated doodle paints a moonlit night and a quaint river side scene set to the tunes of Clair de lune, one of Debussy's musical feats.
The doodle trails the journey of two lovers in different boats, as they row across the night and through gleaming sky, flickering street lights, rising chimney smoke, passing motor cars, cycles, balloons, windmill and heaving clouds. The beautiful rhapsody concludes with the rain drenched lovers uniting under one red umbrella.
The French artiste, who was born on 22 August 1862, is one of the best known Impressionist musicians in the world. Winner of the Grand Prix de Rome, the composer is best known for his works like Prelude a l'apres-midi d'un faune, Pelleas et Melisande, Suite Bergamasque, La Cathedrale Engloutie and La Mer.
