Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department has announced that Captain Frank Reed died in a swimming accident.

This incident took place when he was on vacation with his girlfriend in Portugal. The agency confirmed that his body was recovered on Wednesday morning. Tempe Fire Department Chief has released a statement.

Chief Greg Ruiz said in the statement that on behalf of all the men and women working at Tempe Fire Medical Rescue, we ask for your prayers and thoughts as we work through this challenging time as a family.

He also said that Reed has worked for 19 years with the department. To bring his body home Reed’s stepdaughter has set up a GoFundMe account.
