Valley Opioid manufacturer arrested

The majority owner and founder of large Valley pharmaceutical company John Kapoor was arrested on Thursday. 74-year-old was arrested on Thursday morning in Phoenix. He was arrested on charges of racketeering, conspiracy and fraud.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday. John is having a net worth of $1.79 billion. Attorney General Mark filed a suit against Insys to stop continuing false representations. He wants the company to provide restitution for patients.

Former employees in Insys said that company practices were all fraudulent. In the state, a total of 790 deaths were recorded due to opioid in 2016 and prescription opioids also caused 482 deaths.

In August, a lawsuit was filed against the Chandler Company for engaging in fraudulent marketing schemes designed to increase the sales of Subsys. Subsys is a highly addictive opioid, this drug contains fentanyl.
