Have you ever thought what would be the situation of prisoners during summers?  We really don’t know how many of you thought about it but minister for prisons in Uttar Pradesh, Raju Bhaiya seemed to have worried about the prisoners in Uttar Pradesh. The minister, to everyone’s surprise, has ordered the concerned jail authorities to install coolers and fans in all prisons across the state.

These instructions were issued at a review meeting on prisons on Monday.  On hearing this news, the families of all prisoners reportedly felt extremely happy that their wards need not suffer and dry due to scorching heat this summer.  Fans and coolers were once luxurious items but heat testing the patience of a person every summer, they have now become conventional necessities. This decision of installing coolers in prisoners, was in fact, a wise decision that was hailed by almost all persons.

Other issues that came up for discussion during this meeting include proper cooking and meeting with prisoners. Raju Bhaiya directed the officials to ensure that relatives of prisoners who come to meet from distant places should not be sent away without giving a chance of meeting.  Also, vegetable oil would be used hereafter for cooking instead of vanaspati oil.  It may be noted that Raju Bhaiya himself landed in jails twice last decade.
