Thoongavanam is special for Trisha as it marks her fiftieth film in addition to completion of 15 years in the film industry. Directed by Rajesh M Selva, the film starring Kamal Haasan will also be released in Telugu named Cheekati Raajyam besides Tamil. It is said that Thoongavanam is the remake of Sleepless Night, a French movie.
At the Thoongavanam trailer launch, Trisha said, “It’s a huge honour for anyone to work with Kamal and for me, it’s happened two times.” Earlier, Trisha worked with the Ulaganayagan on Manmadhan Ambu.
“There was one particular challenging portion during shoot – I cannot reveal what at the moment – that I could have never done without the help of Kamal sir. Also, I couldn’t have dubbed for the movie without his assistance,” Trisha added.
During the launch of the Kamal Haasan's thoongavanam trailer, not too many details have been divulged by the film’s cast and crew including its story. However, all praised Kamal’s dedication and meticulous involvement in the project. Thoongavanam trailer was publicized as a fast-paced thriller featuring Trisha Krishnan and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. While Kamal Haasan was in super-stylish look, Trisha was sleek-looking and Prakash Raj was looking cool. Trailer indicates that the film is a family-based crime thriller. The Tamil-Telugu movie is expected to hit theaters this November.
