Man's eternal clueless situation while understanding a woman’s mind is not a pretense as studies have proven that guys are really are better at reading one another than they are reading women. In a new study, 22 men were subject to brain scans while performing a “Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test.” In such a test, participants are asked to make judgements about a person based solely on a close-up of that person’s eyes. Asked to give the gender of each set of eyes, the study volunteers did so as reliably for women as for men. But when asked to pick the emotional state of each pair of eyes from among four choices, the men were a lot more accurate with respect to men’s eyes than women’s.

The results provide “further evidence that men are substantially less able to infer mental states expressed by women, which may be accompanied by sex-specific differences in amygdala activity,” the researchers report. But why are men better at reading one another than at reading women? The scientists offer up an evolutionary explanation: “As men were more involved in hunting and territory fights, it would have been important for them to be able to predict and foresee the intentions and actions of their male rivals.”

Finally there is some relief for all those man who are falsely accused of being INSENSITIVE  and some real discovery in the field of behavioral science.
