Speculations have been rife on the new leading lady in Shah Rukh Khan's home production 'Happy New Year'. While a part of media reported Katrina Kaif being roped in for the role, just the other day we posted Ankita Lokhande as being the most probable choice for the role.

However, it seems that Bollywood reigning queen, Deepika Padukone has bagged the most coveted role in Farah Khan's next directorial venture.

Deepika was always the front-runner for the role. However, she chose to remain silent as her dates were being sorted out. Even now, the actress has refrained from talking anything about the film.

Deepika, who started of her career with Farah Khan and SRK in 'Om Shanti Om' (2007), is hoewever, too excited about this project, reveals an insider.

The film hits the floors on September 2014.

Deepika, in the meanwhile, will start shooting for Imtiaz Ali's next opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
