Earlier, the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held a meet and Sri Lanka has emerged as a possible venue for the proposed India-Pakistan series in December 2015.
The series would include three ODIs and two T20s. Most of the matches would be held in Colombo. The series is likely to be held from 20 December 2015 to 3 January 2015.

On Sunday evening, Shashank Mahohar- BCCI President and Shahryar Khan - PCB chief met at the International Cricket Council (ICC) headquarters to discuss the fate of the series. It had been uncertain due to political tensions between the countries. Giles Clarke, England Cricket Board (ECB) President, was also present. The details of the meet were not revealed, but PCB officials looked satisfied with the outcome.

Khan told mediapersons after the meeting, "We had a fruitful meeting in which Sethi was there, Clarke was there as facilitator. We have also decided that there will be no further briefing. I am not in a position to say more than this."

Najam Sethi, senior PCB official, wrote on his Twitter handle that, "PCB and BCCI officials had a fruitful discussion in ICC office Dubai facilitated by ECB's Giles Clarke who will field all questions in matter."

It was revealed that that Sri Lanka would be the venue and the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wants either BCCI or the board jointly with the PCB to announce the decision.
