Team India remains undefeated in the 2023 ICC World Cup that is hosted by India. The last league match against Netherlands took place last evening in Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium. Team India won the toss and elected to bat first. The team reported a huge total of 410 for the loss of four wickets in their turn of 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer (128 not out) was the top scorer for the side while KL Rahul (102) and Rohit Sharma (61) were the other top scorers. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill scored 51 runs each. Bas de Leede (2/82), Roelof van der Merwe (1/53) and Paul van Meekeren (1/90) took the wickets among the bowlers of Netherlands.
Chasing a target of 411 in their 50 overs, Netherlands started on a strong note and put remarkable runs during the first powerplay. But the loss of regular wickets made the team tumble down for 250 in 47.5 overs. Teja Nidamanuru (54), Sybrand Engelbrecht (45) and Colin Ackermann (35) are the top scorers for Netherlands in the batting team. Among the Indian bowlers, Mohammed Siraj (2/29), Jasprit Bumrah (2/33) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/41) took the wickets. India won their last league match by 160 runs. India is on the top of the points table with all nine victories. South Africa stands second with seven victories. Australia and New Zealand are the other two teams qualified for the semifinals.
India will play with New Zealand in their first semifinal on November 15th (Wednesday) while South Africa will play with Australia in the second semifinal on November 16th (Thursday). The final of the ICC World Cup 2023 will take place on November 19th (Sunday).
