India defeated Pakistan today in the group B quarter finals of Asian Games hockey tournament to enter the semis by scoring an emphatic 3-2 victory over the arch rivals at Guangzhou at China.  

The victory over Pakistan has taken India to the top of the Group B sending Pakistan and Japan to the second place. With this, India completed a hat trick of victories over Pakistan in major tournaments this year.

India will next play Japan in the league match but it is only a formality as India has already reserved its berth in the semi finals.
