Top security firm Kaspersky issued an alert about the modified version of the popular communication platform WhatsApp. Kaspersky says that the version is dangerous and asked the users to delete the app from their smartphones. The real reason is that the version has embedded Troja called Tirada and this can download malicious malware on the smartphones of the user. This version is named FMWhatsApp. Kaspersky also revealed any modified version of WhatsApp is dangerous and asked the users to delete the modified version immediately. Several users across the globe have been downloading the modified versions of WhatsApp as they offer several features that are not found on the official WhatsApp.
WhatsApp mods are widely used and this is turning into a threat for them. Kaspersky revealed that WhatsApp mods can have the option of self-destructing the messages. The users will also have a chance to view the deleted messages of the other users. WhatsApp mods also offer dynamic themes and they can hide certain chats from the list on the page. WhatsApp mods can also help the users to translate the messages automatically. To earn money, several new features are added by the WhatsApp mods. The Triada Trojan collects the data from the user's smartphone and downloads other malware too.
The malware also displays full-screen ads at an unexpected time and also signs up for paid subscriptions without any information. WhatsApp mods can become a place for several illegal activities. To stay away from this malware, uninstall WhatsApp mods and install a reliable antivirus app to protect the smartphone and information.
