Apple is introducing a new and smarter Siri with support for Apple Intelligence, a set of artificial intelligence (AI) features for the iPhone. According to reports, the new Siri could arrive sooner than expected with a version of the iOS 18 update. It is speculated that the launch will include Apple Intelligence features (such as writing tools and web page summaries), which are expected to arrive with the iOS 18.1 update next month. At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 in June, Apple previewed Apple Intelligence features in development. Some of these have already been tested in developer updates and public beta updates, but the new Siri remains hard to find despite the Cupertino-based tech giant rolling out a new user interface (UI). However, according to Bloomberg's Mark Garman, that could soon change. In the Power On newsletter, Garmin hinted that the new Siri may be coming sooner than previously expected. Apple is expected to release this with the iOS 18.3 update instead of iOS 18.4. Development of this update could be completed by the end of the year, with a release date of January 2025. However, only some of the Siri features will be included in iOS 18.3, and Apple is considering some of them for the iOS 18.4 update. The release is scheduled for March next year.

According to Apple, one of Siri's most notable additions is text comprehension. Apple's voice assistant can use the company's artificial intelligence models to understand natural language and incomprehensible sentences and find the underlying meaning behind them. It also integrates with various Apple apps, allowing you to perform actions within the app via spoken messages. After the iOS 18 update, Siri also got a new user interface. When activated, the edges of the screen light up. In addition, the Type to Siri feature is now available to users, which accepts text prompts in addition to voice commands.
