Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) has revealed that Shruti’s name in Srimanthudu was inspired by the song Charusheela. During the composition of the song, they came up with the word Charusheela, which was very much liked by director Siva. It was then Siva decided to give the name charusheela to the character played by Shruti Haasan in Srimanthudu.
Song charusheela, composed by DSP, is a peppy dance number in which Mahesh is seen sporting an uber stylish look. Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry has given pure Telugu words with English slang. DSP seems to have incorporated Michael Jackson rhythm in the song from Srimanthudu which is releasing big bang on 7 August 2015.
DSP’s second film with Mahesh
DSP has composed music for more than 60 films in last 16 years. However, Srimanthudu is the second film in which DSP composed music for Mahesh, first one being, 1 Nenokkadine.
Devi Sri Prasad explains, "I was supposed to work for a few of Mahesh's films in the past, but things never materialised until 1 Nenokkadine. It was a serious film and I did not have the scope to introduce too many dance numbers. In Srimanthudu, I went all out and incorporated foot tapping dance elements that is sure to get the audiences on their feet.”
