Marking the Maha Shivaratri weekend, three films Jathi Ratnalu, Sreekaram and Gaali Sampath released on Thursday. Jathi Ratnalu was miles ahead in the expectations and the promotions. The film performed exceptionally well over the weekend and collected a theatrical share of Rs 20.45 crores across the globe in four days. The film is made on a strict budget of Rs 4 crores and the theatrical rights are valued at Rs 11.5 crores. The fourth-day numbers of Jathi Ratnalu are higher than the first-day collections all over and the film is expected to collect Rs 40 crores in its final run.
Anudeep KV directed Jathi Ratnalu and Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna are the lead actors. Nag Ashwin produced Jathi Ratnalu. Sreekaram featured Sharwanand in the lead role and the film is about farmers and their importance in this modern world. The word of mouth was positive but the film fell flat from the second day. After a decent first day, Sreekaram failed to stand strong because of the huge domination of Jathi Ratnalu. Sreekaram is directed by B Kishore and 14 Reels Plus are the producers. Anil Ravipudi backed a small film Gaali Sampath and the film lost its trace right from the first show. The film failed to recover even the digital charges which is poor. Gaali Sampath had Rajendra Prasad, Sree Vishnu in the lead roles.
