The theatres are shut in the country since April this year after the arrival of the second wave of coronavirus. The governments of Telugu states lifted the restrictions and allowed the screening of films. The Telangana government allowed the theatres to operate with 100 percent occupancy while in Andhra Pradesh, theatres are asked to operate with 50 percent occupancy. With all the restrictions lifted and issues solved, the Telugu film industry is in plans to get back to business from August. All the releases that are delayed in summer will hit the screens in August.
Naga Chaitanya's Love Story is the first release of the season. There are talks that the film will release on August 6th. Nani's next film Tuck Jagadish will head for a theatrical release on August 13th all over the world. A series of films like Naarappa, Seetimaar, Paagal, SR Kalyana Mandapam, Gully Rowdy, Most Eligible Bachelor and others are heading for release in August and September. RRR will have its theatrical release in October. The release dates of Acharya, Radhe Shyam and KGF: Chapter 2 will be finalized very soon. Allu Arjun's Pushpa is gearing up for December 17th release. Tollywood is slowly getting back to business.
