RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav today demanded the Centre to take a quick decision on the formation of Telangana state to meet the aspirations of the Telangana people.
Backing the demand for Telangana state and expressing solidarity with Telangana MPs who have disrupted the Lok Sabha business for the last five days on the issue, Lalu told a media conference in Delhi that Government should not delay its decision any longer.
“The government must act immediately on the formation of Telangana state,” he told journalists, adding, that people of Telangana have been agitating for separate state in a democratic manner.
Lalu further said Bihar was divided with the opinion that smaller states are good for development and the same thinking would apply to AP too.
Protest outside Parliament
After stalling the business of Lok Sabha, T congress MPs held a demonstration at the main entrance of the Parliament holding placards that read ‘Honour your commitment by forming separate state of Telangana’.
The members also raised slogans in support of Telangana attracting the attention of every body in the premises.
Meanwhile, T congress MP Mr. Madhu Yashki Goud, said there is some progress from Government side towards finding a solution on the Telangana issue. (J)
