Divakaran’s remand extended to May 11

The judicial remand of V. Divakaran, younger brother of Sasikala Natarajan, former confidante of AIADMK chief and CM, J. Jayalalitha, was extended to May 11 on Friday in connection with a case relating to illegal sand quarrying.

Divakaran was remanded to custody till today in Tiruchirapalli prison. He was taken to the Papanasam Magistrate Court about 12km from here for remand extension. Since the magistrate was on leave, he was produced before the Second Additional District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Kumbakonam, who extended the remand till May 11.

He was taken back to Tiruchirapalli prison. (msn)
