Saradha Group Chairman and Managing Director Sudipta Sen who was sent to judicial custody till May 31 by Bidhannagar court was on Sunday confined in 10 days police custody by the sub-divisional judicial magistrate of Baruipore in South 24 Parganas district. Instead of keeping him at Baruipore police station, the district police has taken him to New Town police station where he was kept earlier, this is to keep his security in mind. The Baruipore police will be interrogating Sen at the New Town police station.
Sudipta's personal assistant Debjani Mukherjee, who was known to have complained of stomach pain, is undergoing treatment at a private nursing home at Bidhannagar.
On Saturday, the Baruipore police pursued permission of the Bidhannagar court to take Sen in their custody as an agent, Manik Chakrabarty, has lodged a case of cheating and forgery against him at Baruipore police station.
Sudipta Sen was known to have told the magistrate that he did not get a good team and there were problems with the software his company used as well as many of his employees utilised these lapses to deceive the company of crores of rupees and therefore he want to stay in police custody as well want to name all those who caused his downfall. As a special mention, he expressed that he had to please people and therefore he want to cooperate, while he want to return money. Not even one square ft of space anywhere belonged to him as everything is in the name of the company.
Sanir Das, Sen's advocate, mentioned that his client will present for consideration of all cooperation to the police so that the truth gets exposed. On the contrary, Youth wings of the Congress and BJP as well as agents and investors of the company staged a mass meeting outside the court added to three people who were injured as the police habitually lathicharged in order to vanish the crowds from the location which may otherwise intensity the rage.
