Authorities unearthed human remains from the southeastern part of the Colorado city near the Arizona-Utah border.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies were tipped off about the skeletal remains by kids who were playing in the desert area, about a mile away from Highway 39, on Monday.

According to a local TV station, a near-complete set of human bones was dug out of the area. The gender, however, is unidentified yet. A spokeswoman revealed that the remains have been lying in the desert for a long time.

The human remains has been sent to the Lake Havasu Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation and identification.

The Sheriff's office said that the case is under investigation and the officials are pouring down all missing persons reports to find a possible clue.
