A Tempe school is setting a classic example of the age-old saying "giving is more rewarding than receiving" through their charitable gifts this Christmas.

The young students at Gethsemane Lutheran School in Tempe are busy packing holiday shoe boxes for needy kids across the world that will be sent to them as their Christmas gift.

The school children are working collectively as Santa's elves, writing letters, packing boxes and getting the gifts ready.

School officials revealed that they plan too pack and give away nearly 300 such boxes.

This isn't the first time that the school has come out in the open to bring smiles to the faces of needy kids. Last year, the school gave away more than 200 gift boxes to the kids.
