It was a sight to see as a huge congregation of 100 female skydivers took to the skies of Arizona, ahead of their attempt to create a new world record in all-female mass-formation jump on Thursday.

The group of girls attempted multiple jumps from Skydive Arizona in Eloy on Thanksgiving Day, ahead of their record-breaking attempt which they will undertake today or tomorrow from the same site, situated about 65 miles south of Phoenix.

The skydivers are wanting to leave no stone unturned ahead of their big venture and thus, attempted dives and mass-formation creation, said Nancy Koreen, a skydiver and spokeswoman for the U.S. Parachute Association. The women skydivers are eying to beat the previous record of a 41-woman formation.

All the participants — 40 Americans and 50 women from Australia, Russia, France, England, Canada and Mexico — will be competing for slots on a record attempt set for Friday or Saturday.

“The group plans multiple jumps each day from four aircraft flying as high as 16,000 feet. The skydivers will try to build a formation as they plummet head-first toward the ground at speeds approaching 170 mph,” Nancy Koreen revealed.

Here's wishing the all girls squad a record-breaking success!
