A man from the city of El Mirage was taken into custody on Monday for alleged crime of sexually exploiting a minor. James Robert Desilva, 50, was arrested by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on 10 counts of sexual exploitation charges.

Desilva, was arrested from his home near Cactus Road and Main Street after a tip-off from the Child Protective Services informing the Sheriff’s Office that the man was sharing files related to child pornography from his personal computer.

Since 2011, Desilva has been under the investigative scanner of the Maricopa Sheriff’s Office. In 2011 he had admitted before detectives that he had indeed downloaded, was in possession and had shared child pornography videos of children in the age group of four to 11, according to a statement issued from the Sheriff’s Office.

After three years, almost 70 images and video linked to Desilva has been obtained without actual search in his computer by the Sheriff’s Office.

Desilva has been put in Maricopa County jail and asked to furnish a $100,000 bond.
