A 59-year-old man was arrested for pulling a gun on a girl selling cookies by knocking on doors. The girl's father, who was a witness to the incident, reported the incident to the police, said the Riverside County sheriff's officials.

The police arrested the man named John M. Dodrill on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place on Sunday, before noon, in Temecula.

The girl, who was going to every door in the neighbourhood to sell cookies, knocked at Dodrill's door. According to police report, Dodrill opened the door and pointed a gun at the defenceless girl

Dodrill was arrested inspite of not pulling the trigger and also his gun was seized by police for evidence in the case. His bail was fixed at $25,000, according to jail records.
