The Indian army and Assam Rifles carried operations to end the militants reportedly responsible for brutal attack on Indian soldiers in Manipur. Some reports mentioned that Indian commandos with the help of the Airforce, penetrated into Myanmar territory and carried out the revengeful attack.

The special forces of the army reportedly went inside the Myanmar geographical limits and destroyed two camps of insurgents, who participated in the attacks in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh last week.

The NSCN(K), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL ) and Kangleipak Communist Party groups have claimed for deadly attacks on Indian army. But, Indian government with precise intelligence reports, ordered to hot pursuit.

Around 20 insurgents were killed in the army attack in Myanmar, while some other militants reportedly killed in encounters in Ukhrul and Chandel districts of Manipur and eight militants were reportedly killed along the Nagaland border.

In a separate incident, 3 insurgents reportedly died in and improvised explosive device (IED) blast. According to the officials of Indian Army, they had informed the Myanmar authorities and MoS Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore confirmed the attack inside the Myanmar.

Major General Ranbir Singh, Additional Director General Military Operations, has said that the Indian Army was on high alert since the Manipur attack, where 18 soldiers were killed by 22-27 militants.

The attacks were reportedly authorized by the Indian Government and Myanmar counterpart has to say their version. The strikes clearly hinting at the importance of communication and relationship with our neighbours in ending terrorism. The friendly relationship with Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan, empowers India to take bold steps in curbing terrorism from the Asia.
