The Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association (PPGA) is the brainchild of a few individuals, who always played golf together in a small group had a vision to advance this fun loving activity amongst others within the Punjabi community.

During one of the golfing events these individuals thought of extending this opportunity to all others, who may have an interest in the game, similar to the participants of their own group.

They decided to create the organization representing all Punjabi golfers in Arizona. Dr. Jagwinder Sraow, took the initiative to create the organization and file the necessary paperwork with the Arizona Corporate Commission.

The first meeting was held on January 21st, 2012 at Starfire Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona to discuss the idea and select club officers, who would represent the organization. There was overwhelming support from all of the members present and the Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association was born.

Since, the inception of the organization the Executive committee and Board of Directors have taken it to the next level by raising funds for local charities through Annual Vaisakhi Open tournaments, promoting Golf within our community and youngsters, participating in various community services and extending the reach of this organization internationally through affiliations with other similar Punjabi Golf associations throughout the United States.

The Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association is organizing 6th Annual PPGA Vaisakhi Open, a non-competitive fun round on March 31st at Whirlwind Golf Club 5692 West North Loop Road, Chandler, AZ 85226.

Shotgun event starts at 1 p.m. and Cocktails and Dinner from 6 p.m.
