Statewide search for 14-year-old homicide has finally come to an end on Wednesday. Police said 14-year-old was taken into custody without any incidents at Navajo County. A 14-year-old boy was identified as Joshua Cade Richardson. He was connected to the death of a woman in Apache County Tuesday morning.
On Wednesday night, Department of public safety said in a statement that Richardson was taken into custody around 7 pm in Pinetop-Lakeside. He was hungry and thirsty other than that he was in good condition.
Ernest Collins Jr. said that he was on call when his 54-year-old wife was killed in an encounter with the intruder in their future retirement home in eastern Arizona.
He said his wife went to the trailer on the property when she received text for help from their 18-year-old daughter. She yelled at her daughter and her friend to run outside, but she couldn’t make it outside.
Richardson was enrolled as the seventh grader in Concho Elementary school for 10 days but he has switched back to homeschooling two weeks ago.
Police said that Burglary and first-degree murder charges were filed against Richardson. An arrest warrant was issued against him.
