A woman was found dead after shooting in Mesa on Saturday night. According to Mesa police, officers received a report of a woman trying to commit suicide near Extension and Baseline roads.

Police immediately responded to those reports and tried contacting her when she away from her apartment. Officers followed her and found out that she was holding a hand-gun.

They tried making her drop the gun by giving her verbal commands but she didn’t comply, they even fired bean bag rounds in-order to disarm her but that too was not effective.

She tried to threaten officers by pointing the gun towards them, and then officers fired their weapons towards her.

She was treated by a Fire Personnel at the scene, later she was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced as dead.

No further information is provided about the woman.
