Arizona woman killed in Indiana crash

Putnam, Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) said that a woman was killed and her husband suffered serious injuries in a crash which took place on Interstate 70 near Cloverdale on Sunday morning.

It is said by the Indiana State police that, a 2019 Tesla which was driven by Derrick N. Monet, 25 of Prescott Valley, Ariz., has crashed into a fire truck which was parked which was responding to a previous single-vehicle crash on I-70 eastbound near the 38 mile marker.

The fire department had parked all the vehicles in the passing lane, and the emergency lights were activated. However, the vehicle ran into the back of the fire truck that was parked after failing to see the emergency vehicle, says ISP.

Monet and his wife, Jenna N. Monet, 23 suffered serious injuries as they had to be extricated from the wreckage that was caused by the accident. Jenna Monet was declared dead at the Terre Haute Regional Hospital where the Monets were transported from the accident.

The State police confirmed that, there had been no involvement of drugs and alcohol in the crash and that no firefighters were injured.
