The flu has claimed the life of another child in Arizona. This has been occurred in the Yuma County.
The Arizona Department of Health Services has confirmed the death of the child on Friday. However, no details have been disclosed.
The first pediatric flu of the season has been reported in the Maricopa County and the baby who had been killed by the flu was too young to be immunized and the first death due to the pediatric flu was recorded in the early December. It has been not clear whether the child in the Yuma County was struck with a flu shot.
It has reported in the month of November during the previous year by the State health officials that the flu cases that had been reported in the year 2019 was said to be three times higher when compared to the same frame in the year 2018. they have also added saying that the season in 2019 has been hard particularly on children.
According to the reports, the numbers recorded from earlier this week says that the number of the cases of flu that had been confirmed in Arizona was roughly at 17,000 which said to be 85 per cent higher when compared to last year.
Jessica Rigler who is the assistant director of health preparedness as AZDHS says that the Public health in Arizona has taken coronavirus very seriously but the immediate threat would be flu as far as the infectious diseases have been considered in the Arizona public and that there has been only one case that has been documented in Arizona regarding coronavirus.
The experts say that there have been nearly 15 million cases o9f flu that are reported which included 150,000 hospitalizations and 8,200 deaths through out the country.
According to the data that has been provided by the department, there have already been 41 deaths that have been caused due to flu among the adults and children as reported in the 2019-20 season.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that more than 90 pediatric flu deaths have been recorded in the country during this season.
