The education leaders of Arizona have been receiving the information from the Arizona Department of Health Services regarding the preparation in the event of an outbreak of the deadly coronavirus which has been officially named as COVID- 19.
Kathy Hoffman who is the State Superintendent has sent a letter to the school where in it has been mentioned that the school closures are not recommended at this time but if it has to happen, the parents should have a plan in place for the child care.
It has also been stated in the letter that the schools ought to look for the opportunities for addressing the food security for the families who would rely on the meals provided by the school.
Amy Bolton who is the spokesperson for the Scottsdale Unified School District has said that the issue is being taken head- on. A website has also been created by the district in order to address the frequently asked questions. The flyers are also being hung up and it is made sure that the classrooms are well- stocked with a hand sanitizer which ought to be used by the students and the people frequently.
The spokesperson for the Scottsdale Unified School District has also mentioned that the increase in the frequency of the cleaning of the buses, the desks and the areas that are touched frequently, have also been made.
The spokesperson for Phoenix Union High School District has said in a statement that the awareness of the concerns are made and that it is in the final state of a communication plan to be finalized.
