Amidst the constant rising numbers of confirmed cases of coronavirus in India, the government has decided to put a ban on all the international flights to help contain the spread. The travel ban will be effective from March 22, 2020 and will last for a week, according to the government sources.
This sudden decision of isolating the country from the overseas visitors is an attempt to further prevent the spread of the disease. India currently has 251 confirmed cases spread across majority of the states in the country.
There has already been an earlier travel ban from some of the high risk countries in Europe till March 31, 2020 and the recent travel ban prevents the entry of any international visitor.
The reports suggest that the complete travel ban was suggested to the government by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Aside from that, some of the other containment measures that have been taken by the country is by issuing the advisory to let the senior citizens and the children below the age of 10 to stay at home.
The government has also advised the railways and aviation ministries to suspend all the concession travel, except for the case of emergencies, be it the students or the patients that need medical attention.
The state government has also governed rules to the private companies to issue a work from home module to ensure maximum security and safety for the employees.
