Passengers on 31 Flights in Canada May Have Been Exposed to COVID-19

Canadians who have traveled by plane domestically or internationally in July might have a high chance of being contacted with COVID-19.
Travelers of Canada who were ferried by air might want to get themselves tested for COVID-19. There have been 17 International flights and 14 domestic flights that have been flagged by Canadian government that have possible exposure to novel coronavirus.
The Canadian government on its website mentioned that passengers near the affected rows are considered of high risk for COVID-19 and must self-isolate and get themselves tested.
Public Health officials of Canada advise the affected passengers to keep monitoring the symptoms and stay in self-isolation. They are advised to contact primary care providers if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
The July flights to and from Canada that are under COVID suspicion include:
- Air Canada Flight AC 988 from Montreal to Ottawa on July 9.
- Air Canada Flight AC 311 from Montreal to Vancouver on July 8.
- Air Canada flight AC 169 from Toronto to Edmonton on July 7.
- West Jet Flight WJA296 from Calgary to Regina on July 6.
- Air Canada Flight AC 428 from Toronto to Montreal on July 5.
- Air Canada Flight AC0407 from Montreal to Toronto on July 4.
- West Jet flight WS669 from Toronto to Calgary on July 3.
- Air Canada flight AC879 from Zurich to Toronto on July 9.

The information on the Canadian website says that the information of the COVID suspicion for these flights have been gathered from international and territorial health authorities and public websites.
The website will update twice everyday and doesn’t include information of flights before June 25.
West Jet flight authorities told media that they have knowledge about the COVID-19 exposures on their flights and have taken meticulous measures to mitigate the infection for its passengers.
The company also said that it always notifies it crew members if they were boarding the exposed flights for their duty.
West Jet had updated on its blog the information about suspected flights that may have been exposed to coronavirus.
Air Canada has said that it had already introduced a program ‘Air Canada Clean Care’ which applies bio-safety measures at every stage of the journey.
