Bollywood next upcoming movie 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' second movie of Dibakar Banerjee's after 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', which was written eight years ago.
Dibakar Banerjee's said, "after making 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' the first story that pitched my mind is 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' but I did not make this film at that time because I was not so much skilled to tackle such subject at such an early stage”
“I felt that as days pass on, studying and understanding the subject level increases, I am happy that I did not make this film in 2007-2008 just after 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' release”.
'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' based on Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay's fictitious story. This is set to release on April 3.
Dibakar,45, last movie was ‘Shangai’ which was also based on on Greek author's Vassilis Vassilikos novel 'Z', and said cinema cannot survive on an original screenplay.
“I have made original screenplays and also good such 'Oye Lucky! Locky Oye!' and 'Love Sex aur Dhokha' but the same cannot be presented, it should vary and an idea which should roll up in one, he said”
The national award filmmaker accepted that adapting a book is big challenge because without disturbing the original content has it has to be framed.
“It is difficult to adopt a book because have to know how to end it and differentiate between a book and a film. A book just tells what the characters think” said Dibaka
