Kathmandu mayor Balendra Shah has called for an Indian film ban after the birth location of Sita was misrepresented in the film Adipurush. Representing this, Patan High Court single bench has issued a short time notice. Nepal court has asked the censor board not to stop the screening formalities of Adipurush.

While Balendra Shah calls this a matter of Nepal's sovereignty and independence as they mentioned Sita as the daughter of India. Anyhow court said after getting clearance from the censor board, no one can stop the screening of the film. Nepal Motion Picture Association president Bhaskar Dhungana after the court's order said that they are not going to stop any movie that passed by the censor board.
