On Tuesday, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) inaugurated its third two-wheeler production plant at Narasapura industrial area, Kolar district.
Furthermore, the plant was known to have solicited business as HMSI's most advanced as well as latest plant spread across 96 acres, which will help the automobile company to "efficiently serve the vast scooter and motorcycle market of India along with the Manesar and Tapukara plants in north India.
The plant which has been established with an investment of Rs. 1,350 crores, will start operations from June this year at the same time will have the production capacity of 12 lakh units in phase I. In fact, HMSI hopes to increase capacity by another six lakhs under phase II while taking the annual capacity to 18 lakhs preferably by the end of the current financial year. Equipped with the three plants, the company will be able to prosper in its cumulative annual production by 64 per cent in just one fiscal.
To conclude, a communiqué explained that the plant will employ approximately 4,500 people, principally local youth while it is also to solicited business as being HMSI's most environment-friendly plant having mentioned in statement to be having zero liquid discharge.
