The Arizona state law has announced a ban on teen drivers using a cell phone. Commencing from July 1, teen drivers are no longer permitted to use their mobile while driving in Arizona.
The usage of mobile phones either in any way by teen drivers is banned by new state law except with merely learner's permit or during the initial six months of a regular license of teenagers.
In April 2017, Governor of Arizona approved the bill and said in a signed letter that he would go farther and prohibit texting while driving for all the minors.
"For our youth, these laws can act as a teacher. In fact, I’d be in favor of a law that goes further, banning texting while driving for all minors," Ducey said. "Driving is a privilege for our youth, and they are still the responsibility of their parents, financially and otherwise, before the age of 18."
Exceptions to the legal document are made for emergencies in which stopping the vehicle is impossible and when using an audible turn-by-turn navigation system.
A teen driver who goes against the law is subject to fines. Licensed drivers may also be held up from getting a Class G driver's license.
