Southern actor Trisha Krishnan is set to play a 20 year old in ‘Nayaki’, which is an upcoming Tamil-Telugu horror-comedy, and will also sing the promo song for the film, which will be for three minutes, revealed director Govi.

Govi said, “Trisha will be seen playing a 20-year-old. She has been preparing herself to look much younger over the last couple of months.”

Being in her early 30s, Trisha lost some weight for the young role and will be crooning for the first time in ‘Nayaki’. A popular make-up artist and costume designer was hired by the team from Mumbai for her special look in the retro horror-comedy.

Director Govi said, “She will be singing a three-minute promo song. One minute of the song will be used as the title track and the rest of it will feature in the film.” He added that almost 60% of the film would be shot in Chennai, while remaining parts in Hyderabad.

“I didn’t have to tell her how she should look for the character. When I narrated the story, she understood what was expected from her to do justice to the role,” he said.

“Trisha will be mostly seen in the 1980s look. The story will go back and forth in time. The film is 98 per cent comedy and two percent horror,” said the director.

Director Govi will be making his debut in Tamil as the director. Ganesh Venkat Raman will be paired opposite Trisha in ‘Nayaki’, which will also feature Jayaprakash, Satyam Rajesh, Brahmanandam and Sentrayan in key roles.
