After a lot of contemplation and deliberation, Farah Khan has finally roped in Katrina Kaif to play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in their upcoming next “Happy New Year”.

Katrina Kaif, who has been sitting idle after Hrithik Roshan halted the shooting of his “Bang Bang”, is only too happy to accept the project.

Apparently, SRK was keen in having Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif on board.

However, since Deepika's dates are already blocked, the role naturally went to Katrina.

In fact, it was SRK who recommended Katrina Kaif to Farah Khan.
