Mexico to take on France

World Cup gatecrashers Mexico will take on an unsteady France on Thursday at Polokwane in the FIFA World Cup group match. Mexico, which upset reining champion Italy 2-1 in a warm-up game before holding the host to a 1-1 draw in its first Group A match, is exhibiting high confidence levels.

“At the end of the day, we're not playing against their stars, we're playing 11 against 11,” Mexico midfielder Gerardo Torrado told reporters before facing the likes of Franck Ribery and Thierry Henry. He exuded confidence saying that “We have to be warriors.”

On the other hand, France is also wary of the high standards of professionalism exhibited by the Mexico team. “They're an excellent side who can give any team a hard time,” France coach Raymond Domenech said adding that he watched Mexico playing against Italy.

“You must make sure they don't get too much possession, otherwise you're in trouble.” he said worryingly.
