India defeated Australia by eight wickets to win the Under-19 International Series 2013 at Marrara Oval on Friday.
The victory was a cinch for the India cricket team, after Indian bowlers smashed the Australian line-up, and batsmen whizzed past Australia's meager score of 75 runs in the 16th over, bagging a glorious victory for team India.
The Indian team displayed laudworthy confidence and composure as they remain unperturbed, even after losing Akhil Herwadkar early. But opener Ankush Bains (40) and number four batsman Sanju Samson (20) steered India to victory.
Under-19 captain Vijay Zol was named the Player of the Series, after his mind-blowing inning across the tournament, scoring 284 runs.
Australian fast bowler Matt Fotia finished top of the bowling table with 10 scalps at an average of 17.20.
Sixteen-year-old Jake Doran was the best of the Aussie bats throughout the tournament with a spectacular average of 195 and an aggregate of 195 runs..
