Indians weak bowling attack was exposed on the match against Bangladesh. As I have said yesterday that India is the most unpredictable.
Team India again went back on its old path and gave away the ODI match to Bangladesh, nevertheless the home team fared really well to earn the victory. On the match played between India and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh, part of the Asia 2012, Batting dominated the game. India fades as Sachin makes merry. Bowlers this time for a change let the team down with their dismal performance on a flat wicket.
Sachin’s mighty achievement 100th 100 myths were short lived with the team’s debacle. Initially everyone around felt that Sachin’s slam was unsolicited against a weak team. But when the score could not be defended by the bowlers, then the century efforts of the Master Blaster were given their due regards. This milestone as many people say that it is an individual record, I strongly condemn this it is a record held by an Indian in the cricket world. So the record only speaks volumes of the country. Hope his detractors will at least realize that the stalwart had brought the nation of a billion people proud.
Match Highlights: Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field. The Indians who came on to bat as usual had a hiccup in the beginning and lost Gautam Gambhir for a mere 25 runs in the 6th over. But with Sachin Tendulkar in the driving seat India never looked back. Virat Kohli was a cynosure to watch the way he gelled with the blaster. The two between them put up a brave total of 148 runs and vital too. Kohli scored a brilliant 66 runs followed by Raina with 51 runs. The Bangladesh bowling honors went to Mashrafe Mortaza, who was fierce in his attack and claimed two Indian wickets. Indian innings wound up posting a total of 289 for the loss of five wickets.
Bangladesh came in to bat with a huge burden up their shoulder and with a weaker batting line when compared to India. But the batsman outclassed the expectations, of the enthusiasts, and gave some superb retorts. Almost evenly they shared the burden with Tamim Iqbal giving a splendid start with a brilliant 70 runs. The target that looked so difficult at one time became too little for a brilliant team work. They won the game with a splendid boundary with four balls to spare in the fiftieth over. The only successful bowler was P Kumar who captured 3 wickets of the winners. Bangladesh scored 293 runs for the loss of five wickets and cruised ahead in expectations. Shahib Al Hassan last minute fireworks made the difference for the Bangla side and he was nominated as the man of the match. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
