India and Pakistan, the arch rivals in the sub continent dominated the game with their willow entertaining the fans throughout the day. Some splendid performances shall go down in the records for both the teams. Normally a match between these teams is the priority of the fans out here. The situation was quite unassuming and fought like a war was the highlight of the match. The fans got their worth of ticket money in the match.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Mohammed Hafeez was the batsman who opened his account splendidly and scored a brilliant knock of 105 runs. His efforts were well aided by his colleagues Nasir Jamshed who also had his equal share of fun and scored 112 runs. And Younis Khan was entertaining as he made 52 runs in 34 balls. Finally the Pakistanis set a target of 329 runs for the Indians to slog later.
A win was never assumed at the Dhaka grounds with a look at the score board. Situation further worsened with Gautam Gambhir out for just two runs. But Sachin made the target look simple with his consistent knock at 52 runs. The most admiring part was when he was caught behind after a snick to the slips, the batting stalwart walked out instantly. Meticulously planned strategy and perfect execution coupled with Virat Kohli, who stayed back to score a brilliant 183 runs saw the Indians race towards victory. The final 68 runs from Rahit Sharma sealed the run chase as India chased down 330 in 47.5 overs with six wickets remaining.
The man of the match Virat Kohli was surprised at the way things took shape for the nation to post a big win. In his post match statement, he said I still can't believe what happened out there. It was a crunch game for us and to execute the plans in such a tight game is very pleasing. It was a good wicket to bat on so if you have around 130-140 runs to get and then you start picking up a few boundaries it puts on a lot of pressure on the opposition. I am a big fan of Rohit and I love watching him bat. This knock is as special as the one I played in Hobart. Pakistan has a great bowling unit and to be able to chase 330 against them feels extremely good.
