Sujana group today announced excellence awards to the enterprising people from the state in fields related to agriculture/education/rural entrepreneurship/innovation or in manufacturing engineering products etc. The awards are to encourage the people from the state who had excelled in their own fields of activity. The Company’s Chairman, Sujana Chowdhary said the award carries a cash prize of Rs.1 Lakh, a memento and felicitation with a shawl. Mr Chowdhary also informed that the famous scientist Dr Swaminathan shall head the special jury to decide on the recipients. The event was today inaugurated for the process in Hyderabad. Sujana Chowdary, is currently a Rajya Sabha MP of the Telugu Desam Party.

Later speaking to the media Mr Chowdhary said this is an initiative to encourage creditable innovations in the respective fields.

Earlier Sujana Foundation gave away the medals, memento, cash prize and certificate to Engineering students. The criteria for the awards was on an holistic basis where the nominee’s academic excellence, overall outlook, performance in extra - curricular activities, their community work and social involvement, their publications/presentations in local, state and national level competitions were considered as parameters in screening and selection process.
