The nation has been under the grips of telecom revolution, ever since Sam Petroda ruralised STD booths during the erstwhile Rajiv Gandhi era. A close associate of the former Prime Minister, Mr Sam felt that only if the technology reaches the rural scenario, will only pave way for a broader utility. And true to his stance a recent survey states that there are more mobiles than toilets in our country. An extension of the revolution is the internet and video conferencing. Now the news is that the video conferencing has taken over the state’s legal system like a wave. For the first time in the country Andhra Pradesh High Court has installed this facility to conduct trails even in remote districts of the state. The network became functional for the second time on Thursday. And three cases were dealt by the High Court pertaining to Krishna District.
High Court can now conduct trials of issues and the hassle of the people involved, travelling to Hyderabad can be avoided, as the court has installed video conferencing. The facility run on a trial basis will network more districts soon. Speaking on the occasion Justice Eswaraiah said he had just conducted trail of three accident cases in the second installment of the installation. The cases were from Krishna District. He said that the facility will be soon available across the state. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
