M. Karunanidhi, Chief of Dravida Munnetra Kazagam (DMK), declined to reveal the proposed names for Presidential candidate, whose party plays a key role in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
Though some names were discussed during the talks with Defence Minister, A. K. Antony, yesterday, “I cannot say what transpired,” said the DMK chief.
Mr. Anotony’s visit was to bring a consensus leader for the President’s seat among UPA allies.
Karunanidhi said, “We expect a good President. Antony proposed (some names) and so did I. But we cannot tell you the details.” (msn)
